About
I’m not really a professor’s wife, though I might be someday. I came up with this title as a response to the feeling that because I seemed not to be doing anything substantial career-wise, and because my husband is working on a prestigious degree, I became an afterthought: measured by my husband’s success, relegated to the background, an undetermined entity. Just a wife.
Marriage, with its comforts and surprises, has been the defining thing in my adult life. However, in the last few years, I have been and am becoming: the wife of a PhD candidate, a grad school dropout, a mother of daughters, a poor household manager, a teacher, a feminist, a Christian, a writer, a reader. We’ve recently downsized so that I can stay home with the little ones while my husband finishes his dissertation.
I blog mostly about reading, writing, parenting and faith.

Whatever you are, I like it!
I agree with Eric…
Good on you. May you be reminded of God’s tender mercies as the sun rises each morning and His faithfulness as you seek Him to guide you through this new adventure. We did the same thing 15 years ago right after we had our third girl. What a ride!
